I designed a comprehensive branding and UX/UI design project for a SaaS backup internet service, whitelabeled from a first party SaaS, redefining its identity for a private client. This required crafting a more casual and distinguished brand that resonates with data backup tech enthusiasts working with robotics and surveillance technologies.

Developed a fun and distinctive brand that captures and communicates the innovative essence of a new B2C backup internet service.

UX Design

Focused on delivering an intuitive and seamless user experience, making access and management of services straightforward and efficient.

SEO

Monitored web analytics and implemented customer onboarding tracking to measure and enhance user experience and engagement. Also improved search engine optimization through on-site enhancements using Ahrefs to target keyword searches to boost organic discovery of service.

We started with a logo.

This logo was meant to represent an accessible and casual brand for a service that is applicable to all hobbyists interested in maininanting persistent IoT data connectivity. Following the name of the brand, the service too is meant for backing just about any IoT devices data connection.

A minimal approach, a bold aesthetic.

BackTHATUp utilized minimal iconography to communicate a simple message, reliable service for backing up a data connection for all wireless data devices. I created a series of icon-based diagrams to communicate this to users new to the service.

Good looks, delivered.

Next came the packaging design, meant to translate the casual aesthetic for those receiving their service welcome kit. Design included packaging tape design, box print design, and design for service SIM cards.

An onboarding UX that clicks.

The UX process focused on crafting a minimal, human-centered design by prioritizing intuitive CTAs, clear messaging, and a visual user journey tailored to make the SaaS service feel simple, approachable, and effortless to use.

Backing that up with human centered design.

This project elevated BackTHATUp’s market presence through strategic design and branding, setting a new standard in user experience and engagement for the new service.
